Mid-Comp International Taking Odyssey to the U.S.

Companies in the United States will soon be able to purchase Odyssey, a suite of modular, Java-based ERP software applications designed to easily adapt to customizations without requiring expensive rewrites. Mid-Comp International, the Australian developer of Odyssey, is working with its American business partner, Oz Global Software, to attract consultants and build a network of channel partners and resellers to start selling the software, which should begin by the middle of the year. LANSA Expands Unix, Linux, Windows Support with 10.0 Release

LANSA continued its transformation into a multiplatform development tools vendor last month, when it announced the 10.0 release of its core 4GL, or fourth-generation language, application development technology. The Downers Grove, Illinois, company now supports, for the first time, the Red Hat Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems with its software, and has expanded its existing support for Microsoft Windows. Infinium Ships New Software, Then Gets Acquired by SSA GT

It appeared to be business as usual during Infinium Software's last month as an independent entity. The company made two software announcements in December, then declared that its planned acquisition by SSA Global Technologies had been finalized following a shareholder vote. The software announcements, coming a week before the vote, underscored Infinium's intent that its 1,800 customers experience little disruption under SSA GT. READ MORE >

Solution400 Adds IFS Capabilities to DASD Cleanup Tool

Solution400 International, the Oceanside, California, developer of systems management software for the iSeries, recently updated its disk use analysis and cleanup tool, S4i DASD-Plus, with new features and functionality designed to help companies manage disk usage related to the OS/400's Integrated File System. With DASD-Plus V6R9, the company's first new release of the product in a year and a half, users can more effectively monitor and reclaim disk space allotted to files on the IFS. READ MORE >

Migration Tool Vendor Adds Support for RPG IV

California Software last week announced that it has developed an RPG IV compiler for the Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms. AS/400 and iSeries shops that have developed in the newest version of RPG can now use California Software's compilers and migration tools to move their RPG IV programs to their choice of platforms while maintaining a single set of source code in RPG IV.
