iTera Overhauls Echo2 to Take Advantage of OS/400 Clustering

This week at COMMON, iTera is introducing Echo2 V3R1, a new version of its OS/400 high availability middleware. With Echo2 V3R1, iTera has redesigned the application around IBM's OS/400 clustering technology. By rebuilding Echo2 for clustering, many of the replication, monitoring, and failover tasks that were previously manual processes with older versions of Echo2 can now be performed automatically, with little to no oversight required from operators. Cluster-enabling Echo2 also has repercussions for iTera's relationship with IBM. READ MORE >

Profound Logic Launches IDE for RPG-Based Web Development

Profound Logic Software, developers of the popular RPG Alive programming tool, announced the introduction of its first integrated development environment (IDE) this week at the COMMON conference in Indianapolis. The new IDE, called RPG Smart Pages (RPGsp), is an RPG-centric Web application development environment that integrates a drag-and-drop HTML designer with a Windows-based RPG editor. New Software from IPS Connects iSeries to Any Remote Printer

Companies looking for a way to allow remote workers to print graphical documents, such as logos and barcodes, from iSeries servers on any local printer now have a solution from Integrated Print Solutions. The Plano, Texas, company is introducing its new product, internet OnePrint Solution (iOPS), this week at the COMMON conference in Indianapolis. Magic Details New iBOLT Integration Software and Strategy

Magic Software provided additional details last week about iBOLT Integration Suite, the enterprise application integration (EAI) software that it announced earlier this year. Officials with the Irvine, California, company outlined an integrated software suite that includes a new business process flow designer, additional support for messaging protocols, and a range of prebuilt connectors and adapters. iBOLT is scheduled to debut in April and will be marketed to midsized companies with less than $100,000 to spend on EAI projects.
