PowerTech Unveils Two New iSeries Security Tools

PowerTech Group wasted no time last week in pulling the covers off two completely new OS/400 security utilities developed in the Kent, Washington, company's labs. PowerLock SecurityMonitor allows systems administrators to be automatically notified the moment security events take place, while PowerLock SecureScreen automatically locks terminals after a period of inactivity to ensure that the wrong people don't gain access to the system when workers leave their posts.

Courion Now Supports OS/400 with Password Software

Courion last week announced the immediate availability of new password reset and synchronization software for OS/400. The Password Management Module for OS/400 is a piece of "agent" software that sits on an AS/400 or iSeries and connects to Courion's core PasswordCourier application. Password Management Module for OS/400 allows users to reset their own passwords through a Web browser, a Windows interface, kiosks, or an interactive voice response system, and gives administrators tools to enforce secure password policies across the enterprise.

SafeStone Entering Cross-Platform Security Arena
