OctoPDF Saves Manufacturer from Avalanche of Paper

Return on investment is seldom as palpable. A subsidiary of a well-known electronics manufacturer is using a $500 piece of software to make a serious dent in the 75,000 to 100,000 pages of paper reports its AS/400 generates each month. The subsidiary used to employ two people for three days every month to rip and sort stacks of green-bar paper. The company installed OctoPDF from JBM Systems, and now those reports are distributed electronically in PDF format. READ MORE >

SEAGULL Shifts Product Strategy with New LegaSuite

When you have multiple software products that address the same basic problem, how do you differentiate them for maximum market effectiveness? If you're SEAGULL, you don't. At least not anymore. Infinium Software recently entered into an OEM arrangement with Cognos to deliver Cognos' business intelligence software, which Infinium will private label and sell to its OS/400 installed base. As part of the agreement, Infinium will gain access to Cognos' online analytical processing (OLAP) technology, as well as a variety of reporting modules, and build the necessary integration to allow them to work with its OS/400-based ERP software. Vendors Reissue Business Intelligence App for J.D. Edwards ERP

GSS Marketing and Coglin Mill announced the immediate availability of their joint OS/400 business intelligence solution for J.D. Edwards' enterprise applications last week at the ERP giant's annual user group conference. The two software vendors each contributed portions of software to create the GSS Vigilance Financial Reporting and Analysis application, which works equally well in WorldSoftware and OneWorld environments.
