It's a Sign of the Times for Retailers with AccessVia

In the last month, the privately held Seattle, Washington, company has signed contracts with two prominent AS/400 shops, The Sports Authority and Staples, for AccessVia's dSIGN software that will allow the retailers to quickly change in-store signs and keep the correct prices on their shelves. Bynari Tries New Approach for Selling Microsoft Exchange-Killer

Generic Software Gets COLD with Spool Utility

Sometimes the limits to what you can do with your spool files can put you in a bind. For instance, you may have run into a wall trying to duplicate a specific spool file or delete a group of them. Generic Software a Madison, Mississippi, company that specializes in OS/400 utilities, has bundled these commands, and more, into a popular package it calls Save Output Queue. Last month, the software vendor announced a new release of Save Output Queue that includes several enhancements, including support for computer output to laser disk (COLD) storage of OS/400 spool files. California Software Breaks into Business Intelligence

California Software, which controls a good portion of the market for midrange migration utilities, is now entering the business intelligence marketplace with the introduction of a new product called BABY/OLAP. The new software is designed to complement the company's BABY migration tools, and as such the target audiences for BABY/OLAP are users and software developers who have used California Software utilities to move their S/36, AS/400, and iSeries applications to Windows machines.
