Pat Townsend Teams with iSoft for Native OS/400 AS2 EDI-INT Software

OS/400 shops looking to move their EDI transactions to the Internet to avoid expensive value-added network (VAN) charges may want to check out a new AS2 solution announced last week by Patrick Townsend & Associates. The new software, called Alliance AS2 Integrator, was jointly developed by Pat Townsend and iSoft, and is the first OS/400 implementation of iSoft's AS2 offering, Commerce Suite, which Wal-Mart is standardizing on for its AS2 implementation. Jacada Integrator 4.0 Brings New Development and Runtime Options

Car Auctioneer Cruises Through Twinax Workstation Controller Setup

Early one Saturday morning, Rick DuVall, systems manager for Dealer's Auto Auction of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, began migrating his company's software environment and configuration to a new iSeries Model 810, which was replacing an AS/400 620 that didn't have the horsepower to serve the interactive and batch requirements of 500 employees. As the switch-over moved forward, no unexpected surprises were encountered. Device Gives Twinax-Like Control over IP Network Printers

Custom Business Link recently started shipping a new network device that gives companies greater control over printers connected to OS/400 servers via IP. The new device, which the company calls the SNMPDRV Print Server, takes advantage of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based printing capabilities that IBM added to OS/400. Custom Business Link says the new product gives companies using newer IP printers the type of print control previously enjoyed with older twinax printers. READ MORE >
