CommercialWare Updates Retail Suite for B2B

The modular suite of applications that CommercialWare sells to multi-channel retailers recently received its first major update since the company revamped its catalog software for the Internet in 1999. The 6.0 release of CommercialWare's flagship retail.dot.commerce suite will allow users to more effectively participate in B2B e-commerce, and features a number of other enhancements to help retailers forecast future order levels, monitor current business levels, and communicate more effectively with the consumers who buy their products. HA Vendors Continue to Roll Out Discounts

IBM's high availability business partners are continuing to carry Big Blue's torch when it comes to aggressive price cuts. Spurred by IBM's "GreenStreak" campaign, DataMirror last week launched its "HA for Under 60K" promotion, in which customers can purchase OS/400 clustering software and services for less than $60,000. And Vision Solutions and Lakeview Technology have extended their recent promotions having to do with the so-called iSeries Dedicated High Availability Servers IBM announced at the spring 2002 COMMON conference. Baan Delivers Browser GUI with PRISM 7iV1

Baan Process Solutions has added a native Web interface to PRISM, its OS/400-based ERP suite used by more than 600 process manufacturers in Europe and North America. Before the 7iV1 release of PRISM, users interacted with PRISM screens via either the native 5250 green-screen interface or a Windows-based screen-scraped version of that, developed with SEAGULL's GUI/400 development tool.
