Vision Solutions Ships Orion, Industry's First Cross-Platform HA

After two years of development, Vision Solutions last week began shipping Orion, the computer industry's first high availability suite for multiple platforms. With Orion, Vision is tackling the growing interdependence of dissimilar servers in IT shops, where, for example, a Windows application serves data housed in DB2/400 and each server requires its own high availability solution and personnel. Convert RPG to .NET with ASNA's Importa

On the heels of its August release of ASNA Visual RPG for .NET (AVR for .NET), ASNA announced last week the impending release of Importa, an RPG-source-code conversion tool designed to generate Microsoft .NET intermediate language assemblies, to integrate with Microsoft Visual Studio.NET, and to be accessed from within AVR for .NET projects. Whether it is integrated with Visual Studio, it imports RPG code into text files on a PC that can then be included in AVR for .NET projects. READ MORE >

iTera Improves OS/400 File Support in iSeries Reorg Tool

iTera this week starts shipping an updated version of Reorganize While Active, a utility that reclaims unused disk space on OS/400 servers without causing downtime. With Reorganize While Active V3R2, iTera has enhanced the product's capability to deal with additional OS/400 files attributes such as files with referential constraints and NULL-capable fields.
