Lakeview's New 'Co-pilot' Keeps an Eye on Switchover Readiness

Lakeview Technology is shipping a new piece of software that should help answer the question that keeps MIMIX operators up at night: am I ready to do a switchover? Previously, users of Lakeview's MIMX high-availability software for OS/400 had to run reports from several green screens to get that answer. Until now, the company concentrated its efforts on developing bandwidth acceleration and storage optimization software for IBM's Lotus Notes/Domino environment. Touchtone Goes ASP with OS/400 CRM

Touchtone, one of the few vendors selling native OS/400 CRM software, is rolling out its new on-demand service, in which the company becomes an application service provider (ASP) and runs the Wintouch eCRM application on its own OS/400 servers, providing customers access over the Web. The Southern California company also announced Wintouch eCRM Version 6.0 last week, which has enhanced integration with IBM Lotus Notes, Web portals, and PDAs. READ MORE >

eStorage Offers New Dual-Drive LTO Ultrium 2 Tape Subsystem

eStorage recently introduced a new dual-drive version of its Maxback LTO Ultrium 2 tape subsystem, which makes two copies of OS/400 data: one for sending to a secure off-site location and one that's kept onsite for fast data-recovery.
