iSeries for Domino Servers: A Look Under the Hood
by Timothy Prickett Morgan
When IBM revamped the iSeries line two months ago, I said that the new iSeries for Domino servers, launched in conjunction with the revamped machines, deserved their own special attention. IBM has improved the iSeries-Domino bundle compared to the "Bumblebee" Dedicated Servers for Domino that it has been selling since late 1999, and I want to take a look under the hood of the new iSeries-Domino boxes to help you suss out how they might fit in your shop. IBM Raises AS/400, Other Maintenance Prices
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

Tech Insight: UCCnet Touted as Cure to Product Data Woes
by Alex Woodie
You might have seen them lurking around your shop, but felt powerless to do anything about them. They're product data inconsistencies, and they could be costing retailers and suppliers up to $40 billion per year. The problem is that each major retailer, like Wal-Mart or Home Depot, has a different way of describing the products it puts on its shelves, and it passes down these inconsistencies to its suppliers. Mad Dog 21/21: Calculated Risks
by Hesh Wiener
Fifty years ago, on February 28, 1953, to be precise, James Watson and Francis Crick announced that they had discovered the secret of life, which was embodied in the structure of DNA. They were right. In 1943, Thomas Watson of IBM said, "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." He was wrong. But 10 years later he saw things differently, and IBM had launched the Model 650 Magnetic Drum Calculator. READ MORE >
