Bytware Launches OS/400 Antivirus Software to Treat IFS Infections
by Alex Woodie

Bytware today revealed StandGuard Anti-Virus, the OS/400 platform's first and only native virus scanning engine, which the company codeveloped with McAfee at IBM's urging. Lessons for Long-Timers in IT and Life
by Doug Mewmaw

I recently celebrated my 15th anniversary at my company. A mentor of mine celebrated his 26th on the same day. On each anniversary, I always feel like the younger brother of the local football star. People come over and congratulate me, then turn to my peer, incredulously, once they learn of his years of service. We are both long-timers. But a long-timer really could be anyone who has been with their company for eight years or more. If you are a long-timer, listen up. Take some lessons from me. READ MORE >

Admin Alert: Automatically Deleting or Disabling OS/400 User Profiles
by Joe Hertvik

OS/400 user profiles can have short shelf lives, which can increase administration time and security risks. Employees leave work and their profiles must be deactivated (disabled or deleted). Mad Dog 21/21: Battle of All Mudders
by Hesh Wiener

On May 3, Funny Cide came from out of nowhere to win the Kentucky Derby, paying $27.60 to win. Two weeks later, Funny Cide ran in the Preakness. A ticket on the winner was worth only $5.80. It was beginning to look like the horse was a sure thing to win the Belmont Stakes, the third jewel in the Triple Crown.
