We told you last week about the new geared down iSeries Model 870 machine that IBM announced to fill a big performance gap between the Model 825 and the Model 870 in the revamped iSeries line. That wasn't all that IBM announced, however. Hyperion Buys Brio, Glimpse of BI's Future Provided

The shake-out from the announced merger of business intelligence (BI) software companies Hyperion and Brio will get some notice at iSeries shops where Hyperion software is currently installed and where BI projects are being planned by companies that fit mostly into the Fortune 1,000 category. Although the addition of Brio technology will have little initial affect on iSeries users, the long-term effects could be dramatic. Admin Alert: Curing the Access-to-ODBC Blues

While this method is relatively simple, it may result in some strange errors that aren't very-well documented.
