Slate of Candidates Put Forth for the COMMON Board

COMMON, formerly the AS/400 and successor user group and now billing itself as a Power Systems user group, is getting ready to elect a new board of directors.
As November was coming to a close, the user group announced a slate of candidates for the COMMON board, with five candidates chasing three open positions on the board. COMMON members will get to vote on the candidates between March 30, 2009, and April 28, 2009; people will also be able to vote on site at the beginning of the annual COMMON meeting, which is being hosted in Reno, Nevada, from April 26 through 30.
Here's the slate of candidates: Bruce Collins (the IT architect at Cooper Tire), Richard Dolewski (a systems integration and high availability specialist who is also the past president of the Toronto User Group), Léo Lefebvre (of MBL3 Software Services and also a past TUG president), Pete Massiello (formerly of OS Solution International, which was acquired by Vision Solutions in February 2005, and now president of iTech Solutions Group), and Trevor Perry. I think Trevor probably doesn't need any sort of introduction, but he is one of the best speakers at COMMON, a staunch advocate of whatever IBM calls this midrange box this week, and gets his paycheck from KMR Systems.
The candidates will be making their stump speeches soon, and we'll let you know why they think you should vote for them. You'll notice, no doubt, that these people are all AS/400ites. COMMON will be COMMON, no matter what the masthead of the Website says.
