EXTOL recently unveiled a new release of its EDI translation software, EXTOL Business Integrator version 2.1. With this release, the company is rolling out support for the Red Hat Linux distribution, in addition to the previous support for OS/400 and Windows. This release also brings new components to the EDI suite called EDI Services that are designed to get users up and running more quickly.
EXTOL says the new EDI Services functionality in EXTOL Business Integrator version 2.1 represents a major new capability in its business-to-business (B2B) collaboration software. This components provide users with X12 and EDIFACT templates, new wizards and design time components, run time services, and new communications architecture for message oriented communications between partners and applications, the company says.
"EDI is the backbone of most B2B relationships," said Anthony Baran, chairman and CEO of the Pottsville, Pennsylvania, company. "The addition of the EDI Services capabilities and the new B2B foundation in the EXTOL Business Integrator help enable existing IT teams meet multiple B2B challenges with a common integration platform."
