IBM Lengthens and Broadens AIX Support on Power Iron
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

This week, obviously in preparation for its impending Power6 server launch this month, IBM announced that it would be tweaking the way it supports AIX on Power-based systems. The new support terms will allow companies to have support for specific release and technology levels--the latter being what the industry usually calls updates--for a longer period of time. As I See It: Education--the Other Dysfunction
by Victor Rozek

"For the cost of 15 B-2 bombers, we can give three million teachers real incentives to raise student achievement and stay in the classroom." Now hold on. Before our more hawkish readers get their knickers in a bunch and accuse me of a commie liberal, weak on defense, America hating bias, it wasn't Jane Fonda who made that observation, it was Louis Gerstner.
