Getting from here to there, reliably

From point A to point B, sometimes through point C and oftentimes on to D or E, more than 200,000 passengers a day count on ANA to get them to their destinations on time.

And behind this benchmark of punctuality, working away millisecond by millisecond, is HP technology. Find out more.

SCO Tweaks SCOoffice, Offers Peek At Future OpenServer
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

The Sun PR team was deflecting an onslaught of inquiries after Jonathan Schwartz, Sun's president and chief operating officer, said that Sun was considering acquisitions in general and had considered acquiring Novell, which only last year bought itself into the Linux market. Leasing Greases IT Acquisitions, Pumps the Economy
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

Like many ideas in the computer industry, the on-demand and capacity-based pricing models that many IT vendors are toying with these days are a blast from the past with a new twist. While companies on both sides of the bargaining table have been trying to figure out how to do utility pricing for IT gadgets and software, traditional leasing continues to be a way for companies large and small to use computing equipment without having to pay for it all up front. Intel Launches 64-Bit Xeons for Servers
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

While Intel probably could have launched the server variants of its 64-bit "Nocona" Xeon DP processors a month ago when the chips and their related chipsets were made available for workstations, the company decided to hold off, most likely to give server makers time to qualify the chip for their designs and to give Intel something to say at the LinuxWorld show this week in San Francisco.
