Please Take Part in Gabriel Consulting Group's Unix Study
Published: September 28, 2006
by Timothy Prickett Morgan
Dan Olds, the principal analyst at Gabriel Consulting Group, does surveys of Unix shops to figure out why they do the things they do when it comes to RISC iron and Unix operating systems. And GCG is putting together a survey of Unix shops in the third quarter of 2006, and needs your help in figuring out what is going on out there.
GCG is specifically trying to get a snapshot of the market in terms of how Unix shops view various vendors in order to identify future server buying trends.
The survey is being conducted by GCG and is not sponsored by any IT vendor, and IT Jungle is also not sponsoring it in any way. We are just trying to help out GCG, and ask that you do the same if you have the time. GCG says that all responses, including company information, will be kept strictly confidential. The results of this study will be published in an upcoming research report, which IT Jungle will get a snapshot of and will publish in this newsletter. GCG is offering the first 250 survey respondents a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate, which will be delivered through email, so GCG will need you to submit a valid email address in order to receive your reward. GCG promises that no email addresses will ever be disclosed to any third party or used for any purpose other than this specific survey. Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo email accounts are acceptable. Only one response per person, please.
