BOSaNOVA has doubled the memory of its top-of-the-line Windows XP-based thin client, the XTC-1000, the Arizona company announced last month. Instead of 256 MB of RAM memory, the standard configuration of the XTC-1000 will now ship with 512 MB of RAM, which makes it one of the most powerful Windows-XP thin clients available, BOSaNOVA says.
In addition to double the memory, the XTC-1000 now offers double the standard storage, or 512 MB of DDR memory-based storage (thin clients like the XTC-1000 contain no moving parts, and therefore cannot house a hard disk). The XTC-1000, which is powered by a 1GHz Via processor, comes pre-loaded with a variety of office applications, including a browser, a PDF reader, document viewers, media players, an e-mail client, and BOSaNOVA's 5250 emulator, called TCP/IP TN5250e.
