Windows Vista Launches Next Week
Published: January 24, 2007

The countdown has begun. In less than a week, Microsoft will launch Windows Vista to the computing masses at a gala event in New York City. Microsoft has said the launch of Vista will be an even bigger event than the launch of Windows 95 more than a decade ago. IT Jungle will be there to tell you if it is.
Our intrepid editor-in-chief, Timothy Prickett Morgan, will be in attendance at launch festivities commencing Monday (a day earlier than expected) with a Windows Vista general availability celebration at Times Square hosted by Chairman Bill Gates. In addition to press and analyst types like TPM, the event will include hundreds of Microsoft developers and testers and a "multitude" of bloggers, Microsoft says.
The enterprise launch of Windows Vista and Office 2007 was also held in Times Square in late November.
