SteelEye Technology, a developer of high availability products, launched new releases of three products this week, including LifeKeeper for Windows, LifeKeeper Protection Suite for SAP on Windows, and LifeKeeper Data Replication for Windows.
The new release of LifeKeeper Data Replication for Windows delivers new bandwidth optimization features that gives the product the capability to use 90 percent of a wide area network (WAN) link, the company says. To keep a handle on replication, the company also introduced "per-mirror replication throttles," or speed limits, to give administrators control over cross-site bandwidth usage, the company says.
SteelEye has also developed a version of its LifeKeeper Protection Suite for SAP that works on Windows, the most popular platform for SAP's enterprise software. This software provides monitoring and recovery for the entire SAP application stack, including core components such as the Central Instance, Enqueue and Message services, and the underlying databases, the company says. "Bringing this solution from Linux to Windows offers SAP customers a wider choice in high availability solutions," said Bob Williamson, vice president of products for SteelEye.
The new release of LifeKeeper for Windows provides customers with more deployment options, including supports for active/active clusters and active/standby cluster configurations of up to 32 nodes, the company says. LifeKeeper can be deployed across SCSI, iSCSI, Fibre Channel storage area networks, or deployed across a WAN for disaster recovery.
