EMC Boosts Microsoft Practice with Acquisition

EMC bolstered its Microsoft practice last week with the acquisition of Interlink Group, an IT services firm with offices in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and California. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquisition of Interlink will bring EMC just 180 people--a drop in the bucket compared to the 9,000 people working in EMC's services organization around the globe--but it brings strong credentials. The firm has been a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner since 2000, and was the Microsoft Partner of the Year for the Western United States in 2005. It specializes in Microsoft's Dynamics line of ERP solutions and the Microsoft CRM solution, both of which are growing faster than the overall market.
EMC says the acquisition strengthens and expands its growing Microsoft practice and builds last year's acquisition Internosis, another IT services firm, and its recently expanded alliance with Microsoft. "Interlink and its extremely talented employees have a proven track record for providing award-winning technology solutions for customers on the Microsoft platform," says Derrell James, senior vice president of EMC Technology Solutions.
