IBM Launches Promised 32-Way Intel Server
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

After a long wait that was due primarily to the delays in bringing 64-bit Windows and 64-bit Linux operating systems to market with a suite of suitable applications and 64-bit Intel Xeon processors to match them, IBM has finally delivered on its promise to get a 32-way X86 server to market. And behind this benchmark of punctuality, working away millisecond by millisecond, is HP technology. Find out more.

Server Market Is Solid in Q1, Says Gartner
by Timothy Prickett Morgan

The first quarter of any year is not usually one to brag about, but in 2005, the first quarter was not so bad. If server sales are any indicator of stability in the IT market, then the IT recovery we saw in late 2003 and through 2004 is under way. READ MORE >
