With the next release of Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2007, users will be able to select items from inventory, and then list them for sale on eBay, Microsoft announced last month. The new release will also make it easy for users to take advantage of services offered by PayPal and Equifax.
The new eBay listing capability will be made possible by using eBay's Web services API. Not only will uses be able to post items for sale, they'll be able to track their auctions and download transactions and fees from within their accounting software.
Similarly, the next release--which wasn't given a ship date--will provide users with an integrated set of credit-reporting services, enabling small businesses to check on the credit worthiness of their customers using Equifax before doing business with them.
Office Small Business Accounting 2007 users will also gain two new ways to accept payment from their customers, including Invoice Payment Service and Merchant Processing Service. These services will allow customers to be paid either through e-mail or through direct credit card payments.
The new release will also feature better integration with Outlook 2007's contact list; support for additional currencies; customizable forms; customizable security roles; and new data-compression capabilities. For more information, see sba.microsoft.com/release.html.
