Iron Mountain Debuts DR Offering for Windows Servers

Iron Mountain this month introduced a new offering called Connected Backup for Server that's designed to allow small businesses to back up their Windows Servers using the same software console and processes they use to back up their PCs.

For years, businesses have used Iron Mountain's Connected Backup for PC software to back up their PCs and help with disaster recovery. The $2.4 billion, Boston-based company claims that 2.5 million PCs around the world use its backup and recovery software.

With the addition of Connected Backup for Server, Iron Mountain is now giving users of Connected Backup for PC the option to back up their Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 file and print servers using the same basic technology. The software backs up data to Iron Mountain servers over the Internet, while using compression and encryption to minimize network impact and ensure security.

Connected Backup for Server is available as a subscription service or licensed product. For bigger businesses backing up multiple servers, Iron Mountain offers its LiveVault software. For more information, see www.ironmountain.com.
