  • Raz-Lee Security, Advantage International Announce iSeries Partnership

April 17, 2006 Timothy Prickett Morgan

Nanuet, New York-based Raz-Lee Security, a security software provider for the iSeries and System i server lines, said last week that it had inked a partnership with Advantage International Systems, an IBM business partner located in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Advantage International was founded a decade ago and provides turnkey iSeries and System i solutions aimed at customer relationship management, business intelligence, and high availability clustering workloads. The company is a reseller of iTera‘s Echo2 product for HA clustering of OS/400-based servers. The company also sells the NGS-IQ business intelligence software from New Generation Software and the System 2000 CRM suite from Vormittag Associates. Louis Suglia, CEO of Advantage International, says that he did a partnership with Raz-Lee Security because iSeries shops are worried about security these days. “You can’t just have a high availability focus anymore without taking security into consideration,” he said in a statement.

Raz-Lee’s iSecurity suite, which was enhanced last fall, has 11 components: Assessment, Firewall, Screen, Password, Audit, Action, View, Capture, Visualizer, Anti-Virus, and Journal. These modules all plug together and interface with OS/400 and i5/OS to provide a single interface (based on a Java GUI) to manage the security of the iSeries and System i server. The security software allows end users to meet the security requirements of SOX, HIPPA, GLBA, and other government regulations. With the deal with Advantage International, Raz-Lee’s iSecurity is now the product that the Florida reseller will lead with in its sales engagements. Florida is big on HA software–and will probably become more so as hurricane seasons lengthen and intensify–and adding security features to the HA clusters is something that both companies want to promote.
