  • TMW Acquires Another Trucking Software Firm, ISDC

    September 18, 2007 Alex Woodie

TMW Systems, the Cleveland, Ohio-based developer of enterprise i5/OS and Windows applications for the trucking industry, continued its acquisition spree yesterday when it announced the purchase of Integrated Support Decision Corporation (ISDC), another software company developing solutions for the trucking industry.

Since it was founded 28 years ago, ISDC, which is based in Richardson, Texas, has been developing software products designed to help companies in the transportation industry minimize their costs and maximize their profits. Its products, which support every major platform including i5/OS, help users achieve higher revenue per loaded mile, control the route, and minimize fuel and out-of-route costs, and are used by 21 of the top 100 trucking firms in the country, according to TMW.

TMW says it plans to continue to develop and support all of ISDC’s products, including rnNetwise Enterprise, Netwise Frontline, Match Advice Netwise Supply Chain, Expert Fuel, Trip Alert, and Route Advice, and its two Web services, TruckloadRate.com and FuelAdvice.com. TMW develops three main ERP systems for trucking firms, including TL2000 for the System i, TMWSuite for Windows, and TruckMate for Windows.

TMW has been doing its share to help consolidate the sector of the IT industry serving truckers. One year ago, it acquired rival Maddocks Systems, and in June, it acquired another rival, TMT Software. Today, TMW claims 1,800 customers.

Also this week, TMW announced a new release of TruckMate, which was previously developed by Maddocks. Version 8.0 brings more than 4,000 enhancements, the company says, including support for 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and databases, a new user interface, a new reporting function, and many other enhancements.

Get More Out of Your IBM i

With soaring costs, operational data is more critical than ever. IBM shops need faster, easier ways to distribute IBM applications-based data to users more efficiently, no matter where they are.

    The Problem:

For Users, IBM Data Can Be Difficult to Get To

IBM Applications generate reports as spooled files, originally designed to be printed. Often those reports are packed together with so much data it makes them difficult to read. Add to that hardcopy is a pain to distribute. User-friendly formats like Excel and PDF are better, offering sorting, searching, and easy portability but getting IBM reports into these formats can be tricky without the right tools.

    The Solution:

IBM i Reports can easily be converted to easy to read and share formats like Excel and PDF and Delivered by Email

Converting IBM i, iSeries, and AS400 reports into Excel and PDF is now a lot easier with SpoolFlex software by DRV Tech.  If you or your users are still doing this manually, think how much time is wasted dragging and reformatting to make a report readable. How much time would be saved if they were automatically formatted correctly and delivered to one or multiple recipients.

SpoolFlex converts spooled files to Excel and PDF, automatically emailing them, and saving copies to network shared folders. SpoolFlex converts complex reports to Excel, removing unwanted headers, splitting large reports out for individual recipients, and delivering to users whether they are at the office or working from home.

Watch our 2-minute video and see DRV’s powerful SpoolFlex software can solve your file conversion challenges.
