  • Computer Guidance Unveils eCMS 3.7

    October 14, 2008 Alex Woodie

Computer Guidance last week unveiled eCMS version 3.7, the latest release of its construction and project management system for i OS and other operating systems. The new release includes more than 200 enhancements, and encompasses more than 7,000 hours of development, the company says.

eCMS is a suite of more than 30 browser-based applications designed to help companies manage various aspects of the construction business, including accounting, projects, personnel, operations, and equipment. The suite monitors and analyzes financial and operating performance, with advanced functions for tracking subcontractor performance, document compliance, and contract management, the company says.

Computer Guidance targeted several modules for enhancements with eCMS 3.7, including service management, time and materials management, plant sales, and equipment management applications.

For example, the plant sales component of eCMS 3.7 now includes a price index database that calculates asphalt costs for a highway and heavy contractor based on the fluctuation of liquid asphalt prices, the company says. Also, users can now generate purchase orders directly from within the service management module, while invoice amount changes in accounts payable are updated directly back into the service management and time and materials modules.

The software also performs metric conversion automatically, thereby meeting the requirements of federal and state agencies, the company says.

eCMS 3.7 represents a new level of integration among Computer Guidance’s entire suite of applications, according to Roger Kirk, president and CEO of the Scottsdale, Arizona, company. “This next generation technology provides greater ease of use and functional enhancements that will enable you to run your business with greater efficiency,” he says.
