  • NGS Updates Accounting Software

    January 26, 2010 Alex Woodie

New Generation Software (NGS), the Sacramento, California, company that’s best known for its business intelligence software, recently issued an update for its other line of products: the Concert Series, its suite of accounting software for i/OS servers.

Concert Series is an integrated package of financial software that includes modules for accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), general ledger (G/L), payroll, and human resources activities in mid size organizations. The software is available with green-screen and Web interfaces, and there is also an Excel plug-in called ConcertPro that allows users to interact with Concert Series data in a spreadsheet.

Earlier this month, NGSI announced several minor upgrades to the NGSI modules. The company says the new release of the G/L module now supports the capability to copy fiscal years and periods between companies that have the same starting and ending dates for fiscal years.

Wire transfers have been improved within the A/P module, which also gained new invoice auditing functionality. Two reports were added to the A/R module, including a customer credit report and an aged receivables report. The payroll module gains the capability to exclude calculations when generating W2s for employees.

ConcertPro was enhanced to include the names of vendors and sub vendors on invoices and account distributions. And all Concert Series products gain support for longer batch numbers. For more information, see the vendor’s Web site at www.ngsi.com.
