  • Krengel Offers Postal Automation through Lorton Data Partnership

    August 7, 2012 Alex Woodie

Krengeltech last week announced that it has entered into a partnership with Lorton Data to provide Krengel’s DocuMailer software customers with cloud-based postal data automation solutions that help them qualify for bulk-mail savings by the USPS.

The partnership involves integrating Lorton Data’s A-Qua services with DocuMailer, a bulk mailing automation program that Krengel developed with Objectif Lune and which runs on IBM i. DocuMailer already offered PAVE presorting, CASS reporting and address correction, and NCOA move update capabilities.

But thanks to the partnership with Lorton, Krengel’s DocuMailer customers can access A-Qua through the cloud, rather than install and continually update the postal automation software running on their servers. Krengel says this cloud approach will save customers money, not only on upfront software fees, but maintenance and upgrade fees and the overall cost of processing and labor.

Jeff Skistad, Krengeltech’s sales and marketing director, says the launch of its RPG-XML suite years ago gave Krengel considerable experience in cloud-to-IBM i integration. “Lorton Data’s technology speaks for itself,” Skistad states in a press release. “Developing a tight integration between Lorton Data, IBM i, and DocuMailer just made sense.”

Josh Evans, Lorton Data’s vice president of product development, says that Krengeltech “brings unique strength and understanding” to the variable data print market. “We believe that DocuMailer paired with our A-Qua platform represents the future of mailing workflow efficiency, combining best-in-class installed software with best-in-class cloud applications,” he says in a press release.

The work to integrate A-Qua with DocuMailer will also be used to hook Objectif Lune’s PlanetPress and PrintShop Mail solutions to Lorton Data’s cloud.

Get More Out of Your IBM i

With soaring costs, operational data is more critical than ever. IBM shops need faster, easier ways to distribute IBM applications-based data to users more efficiently, no matter where they are.

    The Problem:

For Users, IBM Data Can Be Difficult to Get To

IBM Applications generate reports as spooled files, originally designed to be printed. Often those reports are packed together with so much data it makes them difficult to read. Add to that hardcopy is a pain to distribute. User-friendly formats like Excel and PDF are better, offering sorting, searching, and easy portability but getting IBM reports into these formats can be tricky without the right tools.

    The Solution:

IBM i Reports can easily be converted to easy to read and share formats like Excel and PDF and Delivered by Email

Converting IBM i, iSeries, and AS400 reports into Excel and PDF is now a lot easier with SpoolFlex software by DRV Tech.  If you or your users are still doing this manually, think how much time is wasted dragging and reformatting to make a report readable. How much time would be saved if they were automatically formatted correctly and delivered to one or multiple recipients.

SpoolFlex converts spooled files to Excel and PDF, automatically emailing them, and saving copies to network shared folders. SpoolFlex converts complex reports to Excel, removing unwanted headers, splitting large reports out for individual recipients, and delivering to users whether they are at the office or working from home.

Watch our 2-minute video and see DRV’s powerful SpoolFlex software can solve your file conversion challenges.
