  • IBS Hooks Up with rfXcel for E-Pedigree Tracking

    September 1, 2009 Alex Woodie

International Business Systems, the Swedish ERP software company that is transitioning from an RPG-based i OS strategy to develop on Java and Windows, announced a partnership with rfXcel this summer that will yield new electronic pedigree (e-pedigree) tracking capabilities for IBS Enterprise customers in the pharmaceutical industry.

The partnership with rfXcel will give IBS customers the opportunity to replace paper-based tracking processes with a computerized approach that’s fully integrated with i OS-based IBS Enterprise ERP systems.

rfXcel’s software, called Active ePedigree Management, allows manufacturers, distributors, and retailers to track the movement of prescription drugs everywhere they go in the pharmaceutical supply chain. This helps companies to identify counterfeit drugs and comply with federal drug handling requirements, including CFR 21 Part 11, as well as state laws.

“IBS looked at several qualified e-pedigree solutions, but rfXcel offered the most comprehensive and reliable solution for our market,” says Andy Berry, vice president of sales and marketing with IBS Americas, which is based in Folsom, California. “We believe IBS customers will be extremely satisfied with the alliance.”

rfXcel’s software is browser based and works with the GS1 and EPCglobal data standardization services, as well as RFID and barcode systems. The San Ramon, California, company’s has also been certified for use with SAP ERP systems as well as a competing RPG-based ERP suite–S2K from VAI.

Get More Out of Your IBM i

With soaring costs, operational data is more critical than ever. IBM shops need faster, easier ways to distribute IBM applications-based data to users more efficiently, no matter where they are.

    The Problem:

For Users, IBM Data Can Be Difficult to Get To

IBM Applications generate reports as spooled files, originally designed to be printed. Often those reports are packed together with so much data it makes them difficult to read. Add to that hardcopy is a pain to distribute. User-friendly formats like Excel and PDF are better, offering sorting, searching, and easy portability but getting IBM reports into these formats can be tricky without the right tools.

    The Solution:

IBM i Reports can easily be converted to easy to read and share formats like Excel and PDF and Delivered by Email

Converting IBM i, iSeries, and AS400 reports into Excel and PDF is now a lot easier with SpoolFlex software by DRV Tech.  If you or your users are still doing this manually, think how much time is wasted dragging and reformatting to make a report readable. How much time would be saved if they were automatically formatted correctly and delivered to one or multiple recipients.

SpoolFlex converts spooled files to Excel and PDF, automatically emailing them, and saving copies to network shared folders. SpoolFlex converts complex reports to Excel, removing unwanted headers, splitting large reports out for individual recipients, and delivering to users whether they are at the office or working from home.

Watch our 2-minute video and see DRV’s powerful SpoolFlex software can solve your file conversion challenges.
