  • Symtrax Updates Archive with Security and Search Improvements

    September 15, 2009 Alex Woodie

Symtrax, a developer of document management and spool file solutions for the i OS Power Systems server, recently issued a new release of Compleo Archivor, its Windows-based document archive product. With version 4.6, Symtrax has added closer support for Microsoft‘s Active Directory user authentication service, as well as more advanced search options.

As its name suggests, Compleo Archivor is an electronic archive for business documents. The software accepts documents in many formats, including i OS spool files and output from JD Edwards and SAP ERP systems, and transforms them into PDFs. Along the way, Archivor generates an index using keywords and other metadata pulled from the documents, and delivers a Web-based interface that allows users to find needed documents.

Symtrax says it has bolstered the security with Compleo Archivor version 4.6. With this release, administrators can now take advantage of existing groups set up through Active Directory, which will save them time in instances where Active Directory is already in place. Alternatively, administrators can set up their own groups in Compleo or use another tool.

This release also brings enhancements to Compleo Archivor’s search capability. By using multiple search models, Symtrax is enabling users to search across more than one document type when running their queries. This should reduce the number of searches a user must perform to find the needed documents.

Additionally, users can now open multiple documents simultaneously, or opt to merge multiple documents into a single PDF, which should also save time.

For more information on Compleo Archivor, visit the company’s Web site at www.symtrax.com.
