  • Infor Wants You, Channel Partner

October 10, 2011 Timothy Prickett Morgan

Making good on its promise earlier this year, enterprise software supplier and midrange specialist Infor is ramping up its effort to recruit channel partners and build its business as well as theirs.

Infor announced the Infor Partner Network back in June as a keystone in its plan to double its sales through the channel. Having gotten its existing partners up to speed on IPN and rebranded its myriad applications, including the recently acquired Lawson suites, under the common Infor10 brand, Infor has now put out the call to all channel partners around the world to join up.

“Our commitment to growing, elevating and supporting Infor’s global network of channel partners is essential to meeting our aggressive growth objectives,” said Jeff Abbott, vice president of global alliances and channels at the software company, said in a statement announcing the recruitment drive. “Our strategy is to recruit only the highest quality channel partners who have considerable industry and enterprise software market expertise. We are committed to providing valuable incentives and programs through the Infor Partner Network to help them increase their bottom line quickly.”

Infor is promising prospective channel partners that it can deliver the resources to help them–and therefore Infor–make money, including an incentive-based commission structure, multiple bonuses, and programs for training and certification, on-boarding, and market development. Infor says its commissions are “industry leading” and that it uses segmented sales zones to keep partners outside of each other’s territories. Infor is also waving around dedicated partner market development funds and access to Infor sales resources, but cannot, for competitive reasons, put financial figures on this.

On another topic entirely: Is it just me, or is the new Infor logo just a little too much like the Oracle logo? Take a look for yourself:

It’s probably just me, after a few weeks of lots of Oracle announcements up the yin-yang and out the wazoo. Did I remind you that Charles Phillips, who used to be co-president of Oracle before Mark Hurd, was tapped to be CEO at Infor a year ago?

Yeah, it’s just me. It’s been that kind of week, I guess.

Get More Out of Your IBM i

With soaring costs, operational data is more critical than ever. IBM shops need faster, easier ways to distribute IBM applications-based data to users more efficiently, no matter where they are.

    The Problem:

For Users, IBM Data Can Be Difficult to Get To

IBM Applications generate reports as spooled files, originally designed to be printed. Often those reports are packed together with so much data it makes them difficult to read. Add to that hardcopy is a pain to distribute. User-friendly formats like Excel and PDF are better, offering sorting, searching, and easy portability but getting IBM reports into these formats can be tricky without the right tools.

    The Solution:

IBM i Reports can easily be converted to easy to read and share formats like Excel and PDF and Delivered by Email

Converting IBM i, iSeries, and AS400 reports into Excel and PDF is now a lot easier with SpoolFlex software by DRV Tech.  If you or your users are still doing this manually, think how much time is wasted dragging and reformatting to make a report readable. How much time would be saved if they were automatically formatted correctly and delivered to one or multiple recipients.

SpoolFlex converts spooled files to Excel and PDF, automatically emailing them, and saving copies to network shared folders. SpoolFlex converts complex reports to Excel, removing unwanted headers, splitting large reports out for individual recipients, and delivering to users whether they are at the office or working from home.

Watch our 2-minute video and see DRV’s powerful SpoolFlex software can solve your file conversion challenges.
