JDA MMS Users Get Incentive to Go Paperless

Published: May 3, 2011

by Dan Burger

Building on its existing partnership with JDA Software Group, IntelliChief has enhanced its content management system based on tighter integration with JDA's i OS-based Merchandise Management System (MMS). This latest development brings JDA users electronic document management capabilities directly from their MMS screens--adding convenience and increased efficiency to processes like invoice routing, approvals, and paperwork filing.

IntelliChief vice president of sales and marketing Michael Rooney said in a statement the improvements in integration and implementation is expected to result in more JDA users converting from paper-based to digital-based systems. Rooney cited the capability to search and retrieve documents directly from the ERP application screen as a major benefit.

IntelliChief content management was designed to improve processes such as the purchase of goods, receiving of materials, processing of invoices, and submitting payments to vendors by eliminating manual tasks involved with document sorting and distribution, approvals, and paper handling.

Until December 2010, IntelliChief was an independent company owned and operated by Quadrant Software. At that time, Quadrant was purchased by the private equity company Candescent Partners. The IntelliChief business is what interested Candescent, and the firm sold Quadrant.

The partnership between IntelliChief and JDA MMS dates to 2009.

IntelliChief, is one of the leading software companies in the paperless process management (PPM) field within the IBM i (System i, iSeries, AS/400) community. It has decades of expertise in this market and offers product integration with other ERP software vendors in addition to JDA.

The company is demonstrating its latest feature at JDA's user group conference, Focus 2011, which is underway this week in Orlando, Florida.
