  • Vision Solutions Appoints New Executive VP of Sales and Marketing

    January 23, 2006 Dan Burger

Vision Solutions, one of the familiar names in iSeries high availability software, has appointed Norm Williams to the position of executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Williams is taking on these responsibilities after a five-month stint as a sales, marketing, and strategic directions consultant to Vision Solutions. Although Williams is new to the IBM world, where Vision Solutions is a premier business partner, Alan Arnold, the president and chief operating officer at the company, says he has known Williams through professional organizations for several years and is impressed with his abilities–particularly his skill at starting up, building, and running companies.

Williams has been the CEO of several software companies. Prior to joining Vision Solutions, Williams was president and CEO of Island Data, an analytic software company specializing in customer feedback and customer retention. Williams held senior-level domestic and international sales and sales management positions at Conner Peripherals and the company that ultimately purchased Conner, Seagate Technology. Conner Peripherals was a Fortune 500 company that specialized in small form factor computer disk drives.

Arnold says Vision Solutions is coming off its best year and Williams will be called upon to bring the company’s sales and marketing teams closer together in order to maintain a strong connection with partners and customers. Former head of sales and marketing, David Wegman, remains an executive vice president with the firm, and will be chiefly responsible for key global accounts and for managing partner relations with Big Blue.

With COVID-19 wreaking havoc, cybercriminals are taking advantage of the global impact that it has had on our families, our businesses and our societies. It is more important now than ever to ensure that IT systems are protected, so that when all of this is behind us, we can get back to business as usual as quickly as possible.

iSecurity Anti-Ransomware protects organizations against ransomware attacks and other kinds of malware that may access and change business-critical data on your IBM i. It even protects against zero-day attacks. Anti-Viruses can only report on the damage an attack has caused, but not stop it.

iSecurity Anti-Ransomware has been recently enhanced with a Self-Test feature that allows you to simulate a ransomware attack on your IBM i. The simulated attack is limited to the test folder and cannot harm any other folders or files. This new feature lets organizations see how they are protected against known or unknown ransomware.

    Key Features:

    • Real-time scanning for known and unknown ransomware threats.
    • Blocks and disconnects the intruder.
    • Instantaneously sends alerts to SIEM as well as the offending computer.
    • Self-Test for attack simulation
    • Classification of the attack based on log.
    • Automatic updates with the most current ransomware definitions.
