  • LANSA and Aberdeen to Host Webcast on System i Modernization

    February 6, 2007 Alex Woodie

iSeries development tool maker LANSA and the analyst firm Aberdeen Group are hooking up to deliver a Webcast this week on the topic of System i modernization. The Webcast, titled “Business Drivers, Benefits and Recommendations for System i Modernization,” will start at noon EST Thursday.

Peter Kastner, a vice president and research director with Aberdeen Group, will host the event with David Brault, product marketing manager for LANSA Americas. Kastner, you will remember, was the author of the Aberdeen report issued this past October, which looked at application modernization trends among companies of all sizes (see “Legacy Application Modernization Strategies Hinge on SOA”).

“We’re glad to have Peter Kastner participate in this Webcast,” says John Siniscal, president of LANSA Americas. “Aberdeen has done extensive research on the issue of application modernization, and this Webcast will discuss the results of their work. Our goal is to give attendees information to help them determine their own path to modernization by showing them the most important business drivers for modernization, the challenges that modernization teams can expect, which technology approaches are used most frequently and what ROI benefits they can expect to see.”

The Webcast will also provide information on how LANSA’s new RAMP (Rapid Application Modernization Process) initiative can help iSeries and System i shops get started with their application modernization initiative. LANSA unveiled RAMP less than a year ago (see “LANSA Announces New Modernization Tool”.

To register for the one-hour Webcast, or to download the Aberdeen report, go to www.lansa.com/promos/aberdeen.htm.
