  • VAI Hooks Up with BCMS for Merchandising System

    July 24, 2007 Alex Woodie

VAI (Vormittag Associates) has formed a partnership with B & C Management Systems (BCMS), a developer of retail solutions for the i5/OS platform, to build a connection between VAI’s S2K ERP systems and BCMS’ 4Sight Retail Management System.

VAI sells a version of its S2K ERP system designed specifically for the retail industry. The product includes Point of Sale (POS), accounting, inventory management, CRM, purchasing, warehouse management, and e-commerce components. BCMS, meanwhile, sells a more specialized merchandising solution, called 4Sight.

According to Joe Scioscia, vice president of sales for VAI, which is based in Ronkonkoma, New York, the partnership with BCMS will provide VAI’s customers with additional functionality in specific areas. “4Sight’s merchandising applications provide features such as detailed sales analysis, forecasting, open to buy planning, and apparel-based reordering,” Scioscia says.

Meanwhile, BCMS gets hooks into a more general ERP system that midsize retailers can use to automate other aspects of their businesses. “The integration of 4Sight with S2K Enterprise will provide an exceptional solution for retailers,” says Denis Blyth, vice president of sales for BCMS, which is based in Charleston, South Carolina.

    JAMS Software

One Scheduler. IBM i, Windows, Linux, and More.

IBM i teams trust JAMS to schedule and orchestrate jobs across every platform in their environment. Centralized visibility, cross-platform dependency management, and alerts that reach the right person before the business feels it.

Fewer than 5% of IBM i shops run IBM i only. The rest are managing cross-platform dependencies — often without a clear picture of how they connect. JAMS draws that map, enforces those dependencies automatically, and gives your team a single place to monitor, manage, and recover when something goes wrong.

If you are running hundreds of CL scripts and custom RPG processes, bring them as-is. JAMS runs them exactly as they do today — except now they are visible, monitored, and part of an orchestrated workflow instead of scattered across folders only one person knows about.

No consumption-based pricing. No surprise bills when your workload spikes. You pay based on how many machines JAMS talks to — that’s it.
