InfoPrint Solutions Launches Two Color Printers

InfoPrint Solutions Company, the joint venture between IBM and Ricoh formed earlier this year following the sale of IBM’s printing division to Ricoh, announced the launch of two new color multi-function printers (MFPs) last week.
Like all MFPs, the new InfoPrint Color 1759 MFP and 1769 MFP allow users to copy, scan, fax, and print from a single device. And while the new products offer both color and monochrome capabilities, they offer only “light production” color capabilities, which means it shouldn’t be your everyday color production printer.
The InfoPrint 1759 prints black-and-white jobs at the rate of 40 pages per minute (PPM) and color jobs at 30 PPM. The 1769 prints a little faster–black-and-white jobs top out at the rate of 45 PPM, while color jobs can reach 40 PPM. The InfoPrint 1769’s maximum monthly usage rating is also a tad higher than the 1759’s–up to 200,000 pages, as opposed to 150,000.
Both printers are powered by 1.25 GHz processors utilizing 512 MB of standard memory (expandable up to 1,025 MB) and an 80 GB hard drive. An 8-inch color touch-screen interface allows users to set up scan, scan to e-mail, copy, fax, and printing tasks. The devices also feature a USB direct printing and scanning port.
They both support two-sided printing and scanning, and come with automated document feeders that hold up to 75 pages, and flatbed scanners for delicate items. Finishing options include a hole-punch, offset, staple, saddle stitch, and fold, allowing users to get professional-looking results from an inhouse print job. The 1769 offers slightly more robust input and output capabilities than the 1759.
Both printers support PostScript , PCL, PDF, and IPDS print jobs, and can connect to a range of PCs and servers.
Theresa Lang, director of worldwide distributed solutions for InfoPrint Solutions Company, says the new MFPs are designed to address business environments across all the companies customers around the globe. “The latest color MFP solution is in response to the era of today’s multi-tasking office, needing to do more, for less and even faster than before,” she says.
Pricing for the InfoPrint 1759 starts at $13,694, while the 1769 starts at $16,303. For more information, visit www.infoprintsolutionscompany.com.
