  • Abacus Expands System i Services

    October 30, 2007 Alex Woodie

Abacus Solutions, a purveyor of new and refurbished servers based in Atlanta, Georgia, this week announced plans to expand the range of System i-related technical services that it performs on its clients servers.

Abacus sells a range of new and used servers, including System i, p, and x gear from IBM, servers from Sun and HP, and storage from EMC, Hitachi, NetApp, LeftHand Networks, and Pillar Data Systems. It also sells software products from various vendors, and provides a range of technical services.

On Sunday, Abacus announced the expansion of the technical services it provides around the System i platform. Now, the company offers a full array of services, including; migrations and operating system upgrades; PTFs; system consolidation; implementation of independent auxiliary storage pool (iASP) logical partitioning (LPAR), and i5/OS clustering; disaster recovery planning and high availability; disk arm calculation; server maintenance; security assessments; and performance tuning.

Patrick Hiller, CEO of Abacus Solution, says the company is committed to providing objective solutions. “Our certified engineers have the proven track record to match the right iSeries services, equipment, budgets, and processes to meet an individual company’s needs,” he says.
