  • ACOM Ready for i5/OS V6R1

    March 25, 2008 Alex Woodie

i5/OS V6R1 shipped last week, and ACOM Solutions is one of the software vendors supporting the new operating system. ACOM last week said its EZPayManager/400 and EZeDOCS/400 product suites have been tested, and no problems were encountered.

Not all vendors have had an easy time supporting i5/OS V6R1, which officially became available on Friday. An informal survey of i5/OS software vendors last month revealed that some software vendors had not completed the program conversion process required to run under the new operating system, while others expected to complete the process later this year.

Apparently, ACOM was not one of the vendors running into trouble with the program conversion. In fact, the software vendor says it expects its products to run faster under V6R1.

“The advancements that have been released in V6R1 can only add to the effectiveness of our solutions in the i5/OS software environment, and we are pleased to again assert our commitment to the users of these reliable, high-performance and extremely flexible platforms,” said Angela Doolittle, corporate product manager for ACOM.

ACOM says it has maintained its ServerProven status for its two main i5/OS products, including EZPayManager/400, which helps users print MICR checks and execute electronic payments over the ACH network, and EZeDOCS/400, an electronic document management solution for achieving greater flexibility with i5/OS spool files.
