  • Vormittag Associates Partners with 360 Vertical in Food Industry

June 9, 2008 Timothy Prickett Morgan

Midrange ERP software maker Vormittag Associates, of Ronkonkoma, New York, last week announced that it has tapped 360 Vertical Solutions, a specialist in the food services industry, to be a partner to peddle VAI’s S2K Enterprise for Food Distribution software for the i platform.

360 Vertical Solutions is based in Columbus, Georgia, and is an IBM and Intuit business partner, the former gave the company access to and expertise with IBM’s servers (including the System i and Power Systems) and the latter provided expertise in deploying QuickBooks Enterprise on Windows platforms.

VAI is, of course, the maker and seller of the S2K Enterprise ERP suite, which has modules specifically tailored for distribution, manufacturing, retail, and services industries and is itself a premier business partner in the IBM PartnerWorld organization. VAI has branch offices in Miami and Orlando in Florida; in Newport Beach and Oroville, California; and in Chicago, Illinois, and with the 360 Vertical Solutions deal it can now push into Georgia and neighboring states in the American Southeast a little more locally if indirectly through a partnership. Perhaps more significantly, 360 Vertical Solutions probably knows lots of customers who have outgrown QuickBooks Enterprise and who are looking for a real ERP system on a real platform.

“We are enthusiastic about this partnership with VAI,” said Debi Connor, president of 360 Vertical Solutions in a statement accompanying the announcement of the partnership. “As a leading software developer for the IBM Power Systems platform, VAI’s industry experience and keen understanding of the food distribution market provides 360, and our customers, with a valuable resource for customized, fully integrated software solutions.”

That is the name of the i game after all, isn’t it?
