  • Meridian and Varsity to Go After IBM i Shops Together

    March 24, 2009 Alex Woodie

Meridian IT, an IBM reseller and IT consultancy based in Deerfield, Illinois, has entered into a partnership with Varsity Logistics, the provider of System i shipping software from Northern California. Together, the two companies plan to provide supply chain solutions to System i shops around the country.

Meridian IT is a 30-year-old company that sells a range of IBM products, including i OS, AIX, xSeries servers, and storage, and provides IT consulting work for its customers. The company is one of the holdings of conglomerate Meridian Group International, and employs 500 people in 33 offices scattered across the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and Australia.

As part of the marketing partnership with Varsity, Meridian IT plans to help address the logistics pains of System i shops by providing System i hardware leasing and consulting expertise for connecting back-end ERP systems to the Varsity shipping product.

In short, the duo looks to help any System i shop looking to address its logistics processes, according to Tim Seeley, who’s in charge of ISV relationships and sales at Meridian IT.

“This partnership between Varsity Logistics and Meridian IT provides a complete solution with software products and hardware infrastructure capabilities for manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and retail business customers looking to better manage their shipping and transportation requirements,” Seeley says in a press release.
