  • Attunity Delivers New Data Replication Agent for DB2/400

    November 3, 2009 Alex Woodie

Attunity last week unveiled a collection of new data replication agents designed for use by organizations that are basing their business intelligence environments (and, by connection, their data integration processes) environments on Microsoft‘s SQL Server database and, specifically, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The new agents provide change data capture (CDC) functionality on DB2/400, DB2 for z/OS, and Hewlett-Packard‘s NonStop platform.

Earlier this year, Attunity launched the first of its SSIS-focused agents for the Oracle database. The product was designed to provide an efficient and low cost way to move new data from an Oracle environment over to SQL Server, with SSIS overseeing the data integration and data transformation services.

This week at PASS Summit 2009, an SQL Server industry conference being held in Seattle, Washington, Attunity launched three additional agents, giving its customers broader reach into common enterprise computing platforms.

The new adapters serve organizations’ needs to reduce the cost of real-time data integration, says Shimon Alon, chief executive officer of Attunity, which is based in Burlington, Massachusetts.

“Our strategic relationship with Microsoft enables us to heavily invest in integrating our suite of ODR [operational data replication] solutions with SSIS and make it available for more data sources, so more customers can benefit from its cost-efficiencies and capitalize on the value of real-time information,” Alon says in a prepared statement.
