  • IBM Offers Discounts on Education Pack Training Through August

May 24, 2010 Timothy Prickett Morgan

If you are looking to buy some training for your employees or for yourself in the coming months, IBM has a deal for you.

In announcement letter 310-176, IBM said that it would give customers who buy Education Packs to cover the cost of online training discounts between now and August 6. IBM sells training in Education Pack blocks ranging from a low of $2,500 to a high of $24,900, and under this deal, if you buy packs for online training, IBM will shave 10 percent off the cost of the packs. Under IBM’s current pricing scheme, it does not offer any discounts at all for customers who buy packs that range in price from $2,500 to $9,900 and only offers discounts of 5 percent on packs that cost between $10,000 and $24,900.

According to the online sales pitch from Big Blue, these online Education Packs protect your training budget because you pay for them upfront and then debit off them as employees buy training. In other less subtle words, the top brass can’t take it away later because you already spent the dough. You can find out more about the online training Big Blue offers here.

Incidentally, IBM only offers 11 percent off for customers who prepay for Education Packs ranging in value between $50,000 and $99,900, and those spending $100,000 or more only get 12 percent off. The online training funds stay active for 12 months from the time of purchase.
