  • RentalMan XI Goes GA

    July 27, 2010 Alex Woodie

Wynne Systems recently unveiled RentalMan version XI, the latest release of its IBM i-based suite of ERP software for companies in the equipment rental industry.

RentalMan, which was first released in 1993, is the premiere suite of i-based accounting software for companies in the equipment rental and sales business. The suite comes fully integrated with rental, sales, analysis, AR/AP, general ledger, purchasing, and equipment maintenance components, and is used by companies such as United Rentals, RSC, Hertz Equipment Rentals, and Sunbelt Rentals.

The Irvine, California-based company says the 11th release of RentalMan represents a “significant enhancement” over previous releases. In particular, the product has been bolstered to support European accounting practices, which should help the company expand its reach overseas. Wynne Systems, which has an office in Antwerp, Belgium, recently hired a new business development manager, Carole Cossu to handle the EMEA region.

Version XI also includes support for temporary rental suspension, support for tiered daily rental rates, and enhanced rate override controls for negotiated rates, which should allow RentalMan customers to be more flexible in their business practices.

The new release also gains new features in the customer payment screens; enhancements to the order-to-requisition-to-purchasing workflows; better multi-language capabilities; and enhanced banking and money management functionality.

In other news, Wynne Systems announced the appointment of Tran Ly to the position of manager of technology. Ly will be responsible for the technical direction of the company’s current and future development efforts with RentalMan and InfoManager. She was previously a senior systems architect, and has been with Wynne Systems for nine years.
