  • Missouri Distributor Sees the Benefits of ERP Upgrade

    November 2, 2010 Alex Woodie

The benefits of an ERP upgrade are readily apparent to the employees of Ford Hotel Supply, a foodservice equipment and supply distributor based in St. Louis, Missouri. After going live with the latest release of VAI‘s IBM i-based ERP package, the company reports that monitoring aspects of its business has never been easier.

For the last 99 years, Ford Hotel Supply has been keeping local restaurants, hotels, hospitals, bars, and other institutions fully stocked with food-making equipment, dishware, tabletop furnishings, and kitchen and bar supplies. The company, which operates warehouses in St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri, has been using VAI’s software, called S2K, for the last 15 years.

Recently, the company decided to upgrade to the latest S2K release. The company expects to see enhancements in the areas of customer service, advanced data analytics, employee productivity, and streamlined warehouse operations.

But it’s the visualization aspects of S2K that stand out the most to this “Show Me State” company.

“I love the information center and the drill-down capabilities,” states company president Bill Ford in a press release. “From one place I can keep an eye on every facet of our business and instantly drill down to the detail level when necessary. We can make instant decisions and keep the business humming.”
