  • EXTOL Touts EDI Adapter for Innovative IES

    March 15, 2011 Alex Woodie

EXTOL International yesterday announced a new adapter that should streamline the adoption of EDI by trucking companies that use TMW Systems‘s new Innovative Enterprise Software (IES) Release 9.

EXTOL says it worked with TMW in development of an Enterprise Adapter for Innovative IES Release 9. The Adapter works in conjunction with EXTOL’s flagship IBM i-based EDI product, called EDI Integrator for i, to facilitate the rapid roll-out of EDI functionality, the company says. EDI is an optional component in an Innovative IES environment, and is used by larger trucking outfits to communicate load tenders, status updates, freight bills, and payment remittances.

EXTOL director of product management Mark Denchy says the Innovative IES adapter is a “strong addition” to its software portfolio. “With the availability of the Extol Enterprise Adapter, TMW customers who utilize Innovative IES and EXTOL will be able to significantly streamline their EDI integration, be more responsive to customers’ changing requirements, and rapidly on-board new trading partners,” Denchy says in a statement.

TMW, which is based near Cleveland, Ohio, acquired Innovative Computing Corp. (ICC) in December 2009, and operates ICC as a subsidiary at its former headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. TMW delivered Innovative IES Release 9 in June 2010, about a year later than ICC originally scheduled. Release 9 represented a major upgrade, including a transition from RPG III to RPG IV.
