  • DSC Announces Data Center Upgrade for SafeData

    April 19, 2011 Alex Woodie

Data Storage Corp. (DSC), the Garden City, New York, company that bought SafeData last year, yesterday announced an upgrade to one of its data centers that will enhance SafeData’s capability to provide data vaulting and disaster recovery services.

DSC has been providing hosted network solutions since it was founded in August 2001. Prior to the acquisition of SafeData last year, the company served open system platforms with a variety of services, including backup and recovery, archiving, virtual hosting and standby data recovery, e-discovery, email archiving, and hosted exchange.

The data center upgrade announced yesterday will allow DSC to offer SafeData’s VDR (virtual data recovery) solution for Windows and Linux from its Westbury, New York data center. Before the acquisition by DSC, SafeData used a data center in Warwick, Rhode Island. DSC says the Westbury data center will be updated to support IBM i data recovery services in the near future.

“We have been able to offer our virtual data recovery services from our other data centers, but are now pleased to be able to provide our New York area clients with the same viable cloud-based data recovery solution,” says DSC chairman and CEO Chuck Piluso.
