  • CYBRA Signs European Distributor for RFID and Barcode Products

    October 4, 2011 Alex Woodie

U.K.-based Power Systems reseller Life IT will distribute CYBRA‘s MarkMagic and EdgeMagic software products in the U.K. and Europe, CYBRA announced last week.

Life IT is a IBM premier business partner that specializes in IBM i technology, and also sells System p, Domino, and Microsoft products.

In July, Life IT acquired Professional Software Solutions, an IT solutions provider that owned European distribution rights to CYBRA’s MarkMagic and EdgeMagic and implemented barcode and radio frequency identification (RFID) solutions.

Now that CYBRA and Life IT have validated the new partnership, Life IT intends to continue PSS’ position serving the supply chain and warehouse management needs of customers in the U.K., Finland, Sweden, Holland, and Germany.

CYBRA president Harold Brand expects Life IT to do well reselling the IBM i-based barcode software, MarkMagic, and EdgeMagic, its RFID control solution. “We believe their strong presence in Europe, along with their deep understanding of the iSeries platform and their proven integration expertise, will open up many new opportunities to expand the use of CYBRA’s products in Europe and the U.K.,” he stated in a press release.

Jill Sherratt, the chief executive of Life IT, explained the significance of the deal for PSS. “The acquisition means we will be able to offer everything a customer needs to implement identity technology including bar code scanners, RFID readers, printers, and bar code labels for a wide range of applications such as asset tracking, stock control, compliance, and time and attendance,” she says.

CYBRA has some marquee customers in the region, including McCormick Manufacturing, BOC Transhield, Alfred Dunhill, Kimberly Clark, Medisense, Parker Hannifin, Barlow Science, and NYK Logistics. The Yonkers, New York-based company has recently pushed the adoption of its software in China. For more info, see www.cybra.com.
