  • ACOM Partners with EasyAccess for Web-Based Accounts Payable

    October 11, 2011 Alex Woodie

ACOM Solutions and EasyAccess (EA) have combined resources to deliver a Web-based accounts payable (AP) solution designed to drive down costs by eliminating paper-based processing. The new offering connects with existing ERP systems, and can run in the cloud.

The new automated AP offering utilizes technology and services from both ACOM and EA. IBM i shops will recognize ACOM, which makes document management, workflow, and electronic payment software, and has extensive experience connecting to IBM i-based ERP systems.

EA is less well-known in the midrange, but it, too, has experience connecting with the most popular IBM i-based ERP systems. The company, which is a subsidiary of South Bend, Indiana-based Archway, specializes in creating Web-based solutions for invoicing and AP, patient accounting, and report management.

EA’s invoicing and AP solution is designed to automate the paper-based invoices that don’t arrive through standardized processes, such as via EDI. The offering helps to capture the invoices (through optical character recognition [OCR] technology), route the invoice to the appropriate person, and issue the payment. The solution also helps to match invoices with payments, and provides a storage repository for images of invoices and the associated payments.

ACOM claims the integrated AP solution can save customers considerable amounts of money, including $8 to $10 per incoming invoice and $2 per outgoing AP payment by using the automated clearinghouse (ACH) electronic payment network.

The vendors say the cloud-based solution keeps all information on customers’ systems, includes ERP write-back capability, and is “near turnkey.” For more information see www.acom.com and easyaccess.corporatesvcs.com.
