  • Raz-Lee Gets Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Certification

    December 6, 2011 Alex Woodie

Raz-Lee Security‘s IBM i security suite is now certified to work with another IBM operations management suite, this time Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus.

Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus provides real-time service management for data centers, network operations centers, and IT domains. The software is particularly attuned to working in large and complex networks that involve tens of millions of events per day, where it gives users the capability to ignore the non-critical problems, isolate the faults that could lead to downtime, and begin the problem escalation process.

With iSecurity, Raz-Lee will handle the identification of important messages and logs originating in the IBM i server, the conversion to Syslog format, and the distribution to Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus for centralized processing.

The work with Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus is similar to other work Raz-Lee has done with major security information and event management (SIEM) solutions lately. Raz-Lee has also certified connections with RSA Security for its enVision SIEM, and with Q1 Labs (recently bought by IBM), and with GFI. It has also worked with the SIEM solutions from ArcSight, HP, and CA, although it is not certified on these SIEM solutions.

Raz-Lee has seen “numerous successes in the past year or two when introducing iSecurity to large multi-platform prospects,” Raz-Lee vice president of business development Eli Spitz says.

“For example, companies with an IBM mainframe or with non-IBM equipment of various types, and who also have an AS/400(s) in their organization, often have SIEM products which integrate security related events (alerts) from all platforms. These companies will also want to integrate alerts from the AS/400 infrastructure (i.e. network access, QAUDJRN, system activity, anti-virus scans, …) and from AS/400 business critical applications.”
